WalkMentor Privacy Policy

Privacy-first by design.

This page is written in plain language so users understand what WalkMentor collects, why it collects it, and how the data is used. You should still have a lawyer review the final policy before publishing.

1. What we collect

WalkMentor may collect step counts, walking distance, streaks, goals, reminders, app preferences, and optional health data such as sleep, heart rate, HRV, and resting heart rate if the user grants permission.

We also store AI-generated coaching messages, insight summaries, and app usage events needed to provide the product experience.

2. How we use data

  • To display step progress and streaks.
  • To generate coaching, goals, reminders, and summaries.
  • To improve the user experience and personalize the app.
  • To provide premium continuity and sync if the user subscribes.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not use health data for advertising.
  • We do not require HealthKit for basic app use.
  • We do not access more than is needed for the selected feature.

4. Storage and sync

Free users may keep data local on device. Premium users may choose CloudKit sync so their walking history and settings stay available across Apple devices.

When sync is enabled, WalkMentor uses the Apple private cloud storage model to keep data tied to the user’s account.

5. Permissions

WalkMentor asks for permissions only when they are needed. Motion access powers step tracking, notifications support reminders, and HealthKit permissions are used for recovery-aware coaching if enabled.

6. Your choices

You can disable permissions, delete app data, or stop using sync at any time. If you contact support, we may retain only the information needed to respond to your request.

7. Contact

If you have questions about privacy or data handling, contact the WalkMentor team at support@walkmentor.com.
