WalkMentor
Health information sources
WalkMentor is a walking and wellness app — not a medical device. This page lists the public references we point to when the app discusses physical activity, sleep, recovery, or Apple Health metrics.
How WalkMentor uses health information
Insights, Coach, and adaptive goals combine your Apple Health data (steps, sleep, heart rate variability, and related metrics you choose to share) with general wellness guidance about walking habits, rest, and pacing.
Coaching copy is generated on your device from your activity patterns. When the app surfaces health-adjacent suggestions — for example, a lighter step goal after short sleep or lower HRV — it also links to the references on this page inside the app.
Where to find sources in the app
- Insights — source links on insight cards and below sleep, HRV, and recovery charts (Premium).
- Coach — “Wellness only · Sources” above the message composer.
- Goal — source links under AI goal recommendations (Premium).
- Profile → Help & Support → Health information sources — full in-app list with links.
Walking & physical activity
- CDC — Physical Activity Basics U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance on activity types, intensity, and health benefits.
- WHO — Physical Activity World Health Organization fact sheet on recommended activity levels and public-health context.
- MedlinePlus — Exercise & Fitness U.S. National Library of Medicine overview of exercise, fitness, and everyday movement.
Sleep & recovery

- Apple Support — Heart Rate Variability (HRV) How Apple defines and displays HRV in Health — useful context for recovery-oriented features in WalkMentor.
Apple Health data
WalkMentor reads selected metrics from Apple Health when you grant permission. We do not diagnose conditions from HRV, sleep, or step trends. For how data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
Apple’s Health documentation may also help you understand what each metric represents on your devices.
Updates
We may add or replace links as public guidance changes. The in-app source list is kept aligned with this page. Last updated: June 2026.
